I made a video how to find your art style, if you’ve been drawing for a few years it might help ya 🙂
And remember to never take art advice from an artist who’s only been drawing for 4 years XD

It’s been almost a month since I posted a new picture! Eeeeeee! I’ve been busy the past month or 2 studying art a lot. I read a great (scary) line in a taoist book that says: “If you hold back from expressing yourself, your creativity will stagnate.” I’ve definitely been holding back as I’ve been too busy studying to make a finished picture. Gotta come back to reality every once in a while and see how far I’ve progressed in art.
That said, this definitely isn’t it, as I haven’t been practicing profiles at all. I stumbled on the idea for this demon elf lady on accident and I just had to make a profile image out of it! Ah well, next picture I will draw some kinda thick lady, or maybe I’ll attempt a finished hentai picture for once?

This is pretty much all of my sketches from 2017. Seriously, if you don’t believe me just look at how horrible they are hahahahah. The only thing missing is a shit load of gesture drawings that I’ve done throughout 2017. I didn’t post those as I don’t think they’re that interesting. If anyone asks in the future I’ll upload some of them, more to show how my gesture drawing got (slightly) better throughout the year.
I didn’t really get serious about studying art until I got laid off from my job around the middle of October 2017. You can see from October onward I started seriously doodling a lot in my sketchbook and I honestly credit that to helping me develop discipline to draw everyday.
If you’re struggling to develop art discipline like I was, I STRONGLY recommend sketching in a sketchbook everyday for at least 15-30 minutes. This will reinforce the habit of drawing everyday until it just becomes a part of your life. Eventually you won’t be able to go a day without drawing!
Keep at it! Keep your dreams burning inside your heart!

This gallery shows the beginning of my art journey. I’m putting this up so other people who want to study art can see the progress I made over the years.
Mostly this is to show that even if you are undisciplined as fuck, lazy, and super unmotivated, that you too can become a good artist. You just gotta put in the time.
It was grueling for me in the beginning. I absolutely hated art practice, I just wanted to be drawing anime tiddies right off the bat. Like any skill, it takes time. You have to spend a lot of time working on fundamentals, so that you can build the skills necessary to create whatever you want.
(My Previous Art History: I drew a lot of doodles and comics as a kid but then stopped cold turkey after middle school. I pretty much did not draw at all for 10+ years after that. I decided to start teaching myself art late September/early October of 2016.)
