***** Weekly Links are the bi-weekly (I give up) article series where I post interesting links I’ve found over the past 2 weeks. Mostly I post art references (hoochie mommas!), art videos that helped me, philosophy stuff occasionally, and lastly some music that I found and love! I also do a little blog post about myself if you’re a weirdo and wanna read about my struggle to become the anime tiddiez master. *****
I’m going to talk about weird stuff. This is a warning. So if you don’t like esoteric or fringe crazy ideas, don’t read this.
Now that I think about it, I always write about weird stuff…
I guess if you’re here reading my articles. you’re prolly okay with weird stuff huh?
Forget I said anything. 😛
So Scott Adams did a periscope recently and one of his little asides he said:
“The things you tell yourself, you become.”
He went on to talk about a study Robert Cialdini talked about in his book Influence about how people changed their beliefs on a topic simply by writing an essay supporting a view opposite of their own.
What does this have to do with anything?
Apparently we have the ability to change our thoughts and perceptions about the world simply by changing the words we use in our daily speech and mental dialogues. Much of our speech seems to be a self-fulfilling prophecy in life. Think about that one negative friend that you have, we all have one. That negative person constantly uses negative language, complains, or laments that nothing works out or will ever work out. And what does that negative person get out of life? Negative events, consequences, etc.
I’m not talking about luck here (of course we all know some people just are unlucky because they got hit by a drunk driver or a falling bus or something.) I’m talking about input output. If you constantly have a negative outlook on life and negative mental dialogue, that’s all you’re going to get out of life.
If you look at the converse it seems to be true. All the super successful people I know or have read about are usually very positive people. And again I know you could play the luck card and say. Oh well the only reason they’re happy is because they’re lucky and everything works out for them. This is true.
But at the same time, could life really be that simple that all it takes to succeed or to change your outlook for the better is just to change the words you use?
I used to study the occult when I was younger and I encountered this a lot in ancient cultures. They had that interesting belief that words were magic. And in a lot of ways they are. We use words to express our emotions or intentions in the world.
Maybe ancient people were a lot smarter than us and realized all you had to do was say what you wanted (out loud or in your head) and these things would eventually come true?
Affirmations seem to be this, repeating some desired goal you want everyday and eventually these things come true.
Could it be that just like how our emotional systems are tied to facial expressions and don’t require a triggering experience to activate? If you don’t know what I’m talking about just push the corners of your mouth up with your fingers to form a smile for a few minutes and your body will start releasing endorphins and you will feel happy, even though you’re not smiling from an external stimuli like a joke or someone making you smile. The human body does not need a “real” reason to feel happy, physically forcing a smile with your fingers activates the same happiness circuit as a reactive smile.
See where I’m going with this? Change the words you use in your head to positive words and you will get positive results. I’ve been trying this for a week and I saw startling results almost immediately (I’m using this method to force myself to practice art of course lol).
And if your first thought is: “but I don’t want to lie to myself!” Who the fuck cares? If something works and actually helps to change your mental state, why wouldn’t you do it? You don’t want to be happy? You don’t want to achieve your goals? I don’t know about you, but I will do any hokey or dumb ass thing I have to do in order to achieve my goals. I don’t give a shit what people think of me, I only care whether or not something works. And so far positive mental talk seems to work very well (for me).
I don’t know to be honest. I’m still in disbelief that it has this powerful of an effect on me. Maybe I’m fucking crazy? Most likely.
Try it out for yourself. If you’re desperate like me that shouldn’t be a problem! 😀
“The things you tell yourself, you become.”
Repeat in your head what you want to become or how you want to act, and for some reason it comes true.
References
Katyuska Moonfox – Tall and thin, white cosplayer. She’s got a really pretty face and excellent yummy proportions! Also, I can’t tell if her boobs are fake? They look realish… I dee kay man I’m paranoid these days, can’t tell with cosplayers. Seems most American cosplayers get boob jobs, but what the fuck do I know?
Bunny Ayu – Thiccccc white cosplayer. She’s one of those girls who sometimes looks really cute and other times kinda meh. Confusing.
Danika Wilde – Professional model. YES I KNOW SHE HAS FAKE TITS, one of the most grievous of sins in the cult of JONRS!!! That said, I find her face to be really fucking pretty, in that older lady kinda way. Like, her face is longer so it makes her look more like a classy beautiful older woman than a cute girl. Most cute girls are cute because they have smaller faces. Also it could just be nostalgia because one of my ex’s had a long facial structure like this. Either way, I find her face very appealing!
Angelica Leira – Goth fashion designer and model. She makes lots of cool jewelry and accessories! She wears a fuck ton of makeup tho, like you can use her as a mirror probably. Could come in handy?
Artists
Layna Lazar – Zbrush artist that runs a statue company with her boyfriend. She has some pretty cool statues and she is cute af too.
Lord Dominik – Erotic artist from Argentina. This dood is purty good and has some pretty hot compositions!
WLOP – Another incredible Chinese artist. Paints a lot of beautiful women and gorgeous fantasy settings.
damegane – Japanese artist that loves to draw tall and thin girls with yummy proportions. He also really loves to draw his girls in bunny suits, so if that’s your thing. 😛 (Pixiv)
Will Terry – Children’s book artist that has many many years of experience in the art business. He’s a good man that has a lot of good insight into the business of art and overall view of life as an artist.
Charles Dana Gibson – Illustrator from the 1920’s who drew a lot of beautiful classic style ladies. If you’re into well dressed beautiful classy ladies like meself, you’d love this guy!

✨ システム Fairy ✨ – Write To Her Heart – Sweet future funk song I got addicted to recently. I’ve been listening to this damn song on repeat for the past several days, helppppp. (sample is from Lovelyz – Wow!, a great k-pop song)
Ercola (ft. Annie) – Follow Me (Lifelike remix) – Amazing Lifelike remix. That synthwave with Annie’s vocals is just fucking devastating. This song is just so damn cool.
R E M L A R Я – Electroptysis – Another bitchin future funk song, really damn catchy.
Tatsunoko vs. Capcom: Ultimate All-Stars OST – Soundtrack for Tatsuniko vs Capcom. Never played this game, but the music is pretty sweet. I love the cabaret sound of Willamette Parkview Mall!
Sweely – You Do – A dark sounding house song but with a fast beat to it. This song is incredible, another beautiful mind-expanding house song. Another song I got stuck listening to on repeat for hours. Ugh….delicious. ^_^
