How To Study Art When You Hate Studying (Weekly Links #9)

October 3, 2018 By JONRS Leave a Comment

***** Weekly Links are the bi-weekly (don’t look at the dates) article series where I post interesting links I’ve found over the past 2 weeks. Mostly I post art references (mamacitas), art videos that helped me, philosophy stuff occasionally, and lastly some music that I found and love! I also do a little blog post about myself if you’re a weirdo and wanna read about my struggle to become the anime tiddiez master. *****

Here’s another one of those updates that feels like lifetimes have passed since the last one. This year has been a roller coaster for me. I’ve learned and changed/updated my beliefs in the past 7 months more times that ever in my entire life. I feel like I’ve learned so much about how reality works, humans work, and most importantly who I am and what are my limits.

For example, this past month and half I’ve been practicing only drawing what I want to draw and pretty much doing no studying whatsoever. Because of this my art productivity has doubled or maybe even tripled. I realized I just really don’t want to study things I hate in art and only want to study things that capture my attention. It sounds simple and stupid but this simple change has been a big fucking game changer for me in my art journey.

So often, art teachers and professionals hammer it in our head that we have to study, study, study. This is sound advice. The problem with this advice is that in the beginning of your art journey, you’re not the kind of person that CAN just study study study (that was me). There are some people in the world that can force themselves to do things they do not like. If you’re one of those people, then hey, you’re gonna kill it in art. As for me, I’ve been playing video games my whole life so I’m like borderline ADD and I can only do things that engage me, otherwise I lose interest (or wanna smash my head into a big red brick wall).

The real issue with “just study art” is that this is what pro artists/teachers realize is the best way to learn and that’s what they do now to improve. That’s not what they did in the beginning. Most pro artists were drawing/doodling a ton as kids and so developed a hunger to learn art. If you’re just starting to learn art and haven’t drawn for many years, you simply don’t have this same drive that someone who’s been doodling for years has. They’ve spent years developing an interest/hunger for art that you just do not have. This is why artists who have been drawing for years can study “boring” topics for hours on end. They’ve drawn so much that even boring-ass studying is fun for them! They love art, they live and breath it. It’s pleasure for them just to draw anything.

So what’s the solution for those of us who have not drawn for years? You have to get your mileage first. Just like these pro artists got their mileage as kids just doodling or copying a ton, you have to do something similar. In my case I’ve pretty much exclusively only been drawing what I want to draw and nothing else. This means no studying topics you don’t want to study! Pay attention to your interest levels! You know when you’re doing something you don’t want to do! You start tapping your foot, your thoughts are elsewhere, you can’t focus on the task, you start falling asleep, etc. You know the signs when you have no interest in a topic.

Pay attention to your body. It’s trying to tell you: “Hey man, this is pretty fucking boring and not fun. I can’t focus on this bullshit at all so I’m just going to think about things I actually care about or just fall asleep on you okay?”

This is one of the game changing life secrets I’ve learned in the past month:

Pay attention to what you are interested in. Notice the specific things that grip you.

Successful people always say: “If you need motivation to get something done you are not going to make it.” And that is the god damn truth.

The solution to the motivation problem is do the things that interest you. If you do the things that you truly want to do, you don’t need motivation. It doesn’t feel like work to you, it feels like play. So if you wanna draw anime tiddiez, then go draw anime tiddiez. Don’t go study ears or some shit just cause some fuckin guy on youtube says you need to. Study the things you actually want to study. And if you don’t wanna study anything that’s fine! Just go draw whatever it is you really want to draw. Eventually after drawing what you want for months/years, you will become obsessed with art more and more. At that point you will be able to study “boring” topics because now you have your mileage in art and even the boring things are fun for you.

The automatic response to this methodology is: but I like getting my dick sucked all day, like playing video games all day, like getting drunk all day, etc. How is doing what I like to do, going to help me get ahead?

Look here buddy, the context is: I mean do the things that interest you in the subject you are studying. If nothing catches your interest in a subject you are trying to study well that prolly means you don’t like that subject and are not meant to pursue it. If you’re trying to learn welding and all forms of welding you absolutely hate, well hate to break it to ya buddy, you probably shouldn’t be a welder. In the context of art, if you love drawing tits but hate drawing feet for example, then just draw a ton of tits. Stick to your interests, go for the low hanging fruit, take the path of least resistance, you get the picture.

How to learn art: draw the stuff you like drawing for many months/years. Once you turn into an obsessed art maniac you will want to study to get better and the studying will actually be fun for you because you’re a bad motherfucker at art now.

So that’s it folks, that’s what I learned this past month and half. If you’d like to hear these ideas from their original source, go read Mastery and listen to Sycra’s podcast.

Kay, that’s it. Los links time.

Art References

none this month, been getting all my refs from asian girl boards on pinterest

How to fix Cintiq 13HD blue screen of death (Clip Studio Paint)

Just plug the cintiq usb cable into a usb 2.0 slot (the black slots). For some reason wacom products don’t like usb 3.0 slots (the blue slots).

I’ve been suffering with random BSODs (usually after waking my comp from sleep) for months with my Cintiq 13HD and finally tried this. Welp, lets just say I haven’t had a blue screen in 2 months now. It’s pretty fuckin dumb that a horrible problem I had for months was solved with something as simple as changing usb port types, but hey that’s how life is sometimes. Complex problems with simple, dumb solutions.  x_x

Artists

Dandon Fuga  –  Really good pin up artist. He does skin very well and his faces look super good!

lack  –  Illustrator that does a ton of art for the Fate anime franchise. His colors are so damn beautiful and bright!

Koyorin  –  Character artist. Draws very appealing faces too!

Neo Art Core  –  Another great pinup artist. The way he paints light reminds me of Liang Xing, very similar style.

Unsomnus  –  Pin up artist that draws lots of cute girls. More pleasing faces. ^_^

Nikita Varb  –  Really damn good Russian pinup artist! His style is like 1/2 realistic, 1/2 anime style. Really pretty stuff.

のらくら  –  No idea how to pronounce this guy’s name but who cares. He does amazing linework of pretty anime girls! This guy is line art goals, check out his work. x_X

Zdzisław Beksiński  –  Incredible Polish artist who made lots of breathtaking paintings in the 60’s and 70’s. And by breathtaking I mean mostly fucked up, lovecraftian nightmare fuel. His paintings are very beautiful in a dark way, and some of them straight up make you wanna vomit. Buttttttttt, he has some pictures that are just absolutely fucking gorgeous in a alien world/dream-like way. This guy was something else, check him out.

Shuichi Wada  –  Professional Illustrator that does a lot of work for mobile games it seems. His art is super dang beautiful! Bright fantasy paintings with gorgeous women, gasp.

Music

Afro Cuban All-Stars Concert – These doods are an amazing Cuban band. This music just makes you wanna dance! It’s totally infectious! There’s some kinda soul or energy in latino music that I haven’t found in any other culture’s music (probably confirmation bias). Probably all those hundreds of years of blood sacrifice, we got those ancient blood gods in our genes and music now. Definitely not study music. 😀

Chris Spheeris – Magaya  –  This guy makes some bad ass middle eastern/spanish sounding music. Age of Mythology was probably the first game that turned me onto this kinda of music, good stuff to draw to.

Cafe Music BGM channel  –  Youtube channel that exclusively does beautiful instrumental jazz. They have hours and hours of great jazz and even several live streams going 24/7. Great music for studying or drawing. ^_^

Round Table – Groovin Magic  –  In-fucking-credible song by Round Table. They’re a Japanese band that makes lots of music for animes, movies, etc. This is the kinda music I absolutely love, this music makes my soul sing. There’s another elevator song of theirs that I listen to on repeat all the time too lol, check it out!

Aqua Corridors – Kaivaan  –  Amazing song by Kaivaan! I found him from songs he’s done with anime style singers with cutesy voices. This album in particular is pretty dang good, hard to describe. This song is another I’ve been addicted to. He did amazing on that sparkly water sound, sounds like he got it from a final fantasy game or some jrpg.

Akira The Don – Litany Against Fear  –  Another incredible song by Akira the Don, this time based off of Dune. Not much to say here, if you know about Dune, then you know what’s up with this song. If you don’t know what this is from, go read Dune or watch the sci-fi mini-series, amazing stuff.

Finally, The Weekly Links Where I Stop Caring About Being On Time #8

June 27, 2018 By JONRS Leave a Comment

***** Weekly Links are the bi-weekly (I give up) article series where I post interesting links I’ve found over the past 2 weeks. Mostly I post art references (hoochie mommas!), art videos that helped me, philosophy stuff occasionally, and lastly some music that I found and love! I also do a little blog post about myself if you’re a weirdo and wanna read about my struggle to become the anime tiddiez master. *****

I’m going to talk about weird stuff. This is a warning. So if you don’t like esoteric or fringe crazy ideas, don’t read this.

Now that I think about it, I always write about weird stuff…

I guess if you’re here reading my articles. you’re prolly okay with weird stuff huh?

Forget I said anything.  😛

So Scott Adams did a periscope recently and one of his little asides he said:

“The things you tell yourself, you become.”

He went on to talk about a study Robert Cialdini talked about in his book Influence about how people changed their beliefs on a topic simply by writing an essay supporting a view opposite of their own.

What does this have to do with anything?

Apparently we have the ability to change our thoughts and perceptions about the world simply by changing the words we use in our daily speech and mental dialogues. Much of our speech seems to be a self-fulfilling prophecy in life. Think about that one negative friend that you have, we all have one. That negative person constantly uses negative language, complains, or laments that nothing works out or will ever work out. And what does that negative person get out of life? Negative events, consequences, etc.

I’m not talking about luck here (of course we all know some people just are unlucky because they got hit by a drunk driver or a falling bus or something.) I’m talking about input output. If you constantly have a negative outlook on life and negative mental dialogue, that’s all you’re going to get out of life.

If you look at the converse it seems to be true. All the super successful people I know or have read about are usually very positive people. And again I know you could play the luck card and say. Oh well the only reason they’re happy is because they’re lucky and everything works out for them. This is true.

But at the same time, could life really be that simple that all it takes to succeed or to change your outlook for the better is just to change the words you use?

I used to study the occult when I was younger and I encountered this a lot in ancient cultures. They had that interesting belief that words were magic. And in a lot of ways they are. We use words to express our emotions or intentions in the world.

Maybe ancient people were a lot smarter than us and realized all you had to do was say what you wanted (out loud or in your head) and these things would eventually come true?

Affirmations seem to be this, repeating some desired goal you want everyday and eventually these things come true.

Could it be that just like how our emotional systems are tied to facial expressions and don’t require a triggering experience to activate? If you don’t know what I’m talking about just push the corners of your mouth up with your fingers to form a smile for a few minutes and your body will start releasing endorphins and you will feel happy, even though you’re not smiling from an external stimuli like a joke or someone making you smile. The human body does not need a “real” reason to feel happy, physically forcing a smile with your fingers activates the same happiness circuit as a reactive smile.

See where I’m going with this? Change the words you use in your head to positive words and you will get positive results. I’ve been trying this for a week and I saw startling results almost immediately (I’m using this method to force myself to practice art of course lol).

And if your first thought is: “but I don’t want to lie to myself!” Who the fuck cares? If something works and actually helps to change your mental state, why wouldn’t you do it? You don’t want to be happy? You don’t want to achieve your goals? I don’t know about you, but I will do any hokey or dumb ass thing I have to do in order to achieve my goals. I don’t give a shit what people think of me, I only care whether or not something works. And so far positive mental talk seems to work very well (for me).

I don’t know to be honest. I’m still in disbelief that it has this powerful of an effect on me. Maybe I’m fucking crazy? Most likely.

Try it out for yourself. If you’re desperate like me that shouldn’t be a problem! 😀

“The things you tell yourself, you become.”

Repeat in your head what you want to become or how you want to act, and for some reason it comes true.

References

Katyuska Moonfox – Tall and thin, white cosplayer. She’s got a really pretty face and excellent yummy proportions! Also, I can’t tell if her boobs are fake? They look realish… I dee kay man I’m paranoid these days, can’t tell with cosplayers. Seems most American cosplayers get boob jobs, but what the fuck do I know?

Bunny Ayu – Thiccccc white cosplayer. She’s one of those girls who sometimes looks really cute and other times kinda meh. Confusing.

Danika Wilde – Professional model. YES I KNOW SHE HAS FAKE TITS, one of the most grievous of sins in the cult of JONRS!!! That said, I find her face to be really fucking pretty, in that older lady kinda way. Like, her face is longer so it makes her look more like a classy beautiful older woman than a cute girl. Most cute girls are cute because they have smaller faces. Also it could just be nostalgia because one of my ex’s had a long facial structure like this. Either way, I find her face very appealing!

Angelica Leira – Goth fashion designer and model. She makes lots of cool jewelry and accessories! She wears a fuck ton of makeup tho, like you can use her as a mirror probably. Could come in handy?

Artists

Layna Lazar – Zbrush artist that runs a statue company with her boyfriend. She has some pretty cool statues and she is cute af too.

Lord Dominik – Erotic artist from Argentina. This dood is purty good and has some pretty hot compositions!

WLOP – Another incredible Chinese artist. Paints a lot of beautiful women and gorgeous fantasy settings.

damegane – Japanese artist that loves to draw tall and thin girls with yummy proportions. He also really loves to draw his girls in bunny suits, so if that’s your thing. 😛  (Pixiv)

Will Terry – Children’s book artist that has many many years of experience in the art business. He’s a good man that has a lot of good insight into the business of art and overall view of life as an artist.

Charles Dana Gibson – Illustrator from the 1920’s who drew a lot of beautiful classic style ladies. If you’re into well dressed beautiful classy ladies like meself, you’d love this guy!

Simple Ways to Improve Your Life

Wall Street Play Boys did an excellent list article about lots of easy ways to get ahead in life. If you’re familiar with his work you know that’s all he writes about. But, this particular article is super well written and easy to understand. This is one of those articles like: “If you could only read 1 self-help article ever, read this”. I’ve spent years figuring out how to live my life properly and you can literally follow this list and learn almost everything that will really make a difference in your life.

Music

Is It Wrong To Pick Up Girls In A Dungeon? OST – Soundtrack for “Is It Wrong To Pick Up Girls In A Dungeon?”, an amazing anime! If you haven’t watched this yet, you have to! It’s fucking hilarious, has tons of waifus, BADASS fight scenes, blood, etc. The music is super great too for studying, lots of relaxing town-ish sounding music.

✨ システム Fairy ✨ – Write To Her Heart – Sweet future funk song I got addicted to recently. I’ve been listening to this damn song on repeat for the past several days, helppppp.  (sample is from Lovelyz – Wow!, a great k-pop song)

Ercola (ft. Annie) – Follow Me (Lifelike remix) – Amazing Lifelike remix. That synthwave with Annie’s vocals is just fucking devastating. This song is just so damn cool.

R E M L A R Я – Electroptysis – Another bitchin future funk song, really damn catchy.

Tatsunoko vs. Capcom: Ultimate All-Stars OST – Soundtrack for Tatsuniko vs Capcom. Never played this game, but the music is pretty sweet. I love the cabaret sound of Willamette Parkview Mall!

Sweely – You Do – A dark sounding house song but with a fast beat to it. This song is incredible, another beautiful mind-expanding house song. Another song I got stuck listening to on repeat for hours. Ugh….delicious. ^_^

Weekly Links that aren’t on time, but there’s hardly any links so they feel on time #7

May 1, 2018 By JONRS Leave a Comment

***** Weekly Links are the bi-weekly (in name only) article series where I post interesting links I’ve found over the past 2 weeks. Mostly I post art references (thiccccccc), art videos that helped me, philosophy stuff occasionally, and lastly some music that I found and love! I also do a little blog post about myself if you’re a weirdo and wanna read about my struggle to become the anime tiddiez master. *****

(Pic of the cat girl again. I swear I’ve been drawing other stuff, I just haven’t released the finished versions yet! More coming soon-ish… Also, a wordless version is available in my gallery.)

Hardly any links, WTF. See? This is what happens when I do things kinda on time. Or maybe it was the funk I’ve been this path month?

Haven’t really stumbled on anything on the internet as I’ve been trying to figure out my life the past month. I got re-addicted to video games this path month and let my art slide a lotttttttttt. I don’t even remember what started the whole cycle again. I think it was because I had another existential crisis from some new things I learned from mentors. This new info put me in a downed state and what better thing to do while down then play video games!

This is all my best guess by the way, I have no fucking idea what started this all. My memory’s kinda fuzzy from this past month as this past week has annihilated my past.

The past isn’t real. Always remember this…

Anyways, something clicked in me this past week and I brought my art demons back to life. I’ve been drawing like crazy for the past week and once again have lost my desire to play video games haha! The struggle is fucking real guys. Stay on the path of learning your skill. Victor Pride talked in New World Ronin about that regaining momentum is way harder that maintaining it. Learn from me fellow artists and aspiring masters (of w/e field you’re in)! DO NOT LOSE YOUR MOMENTUM IN YOUR ART. I was a soulless husk while I was ignoring art the past month. I feel like I woke up from a month long sleep when I started drawing again this past week. Seriously, the past month felt like a fog where I was comatose and now that I’m drawing again, I feel alive. My purpose is restored.

*Dark Souls big green letters*

LIFE PURPOSE RESTORED

Don’t lose your momentum doods, it’s not fun and you turn into a zombie.

Kk, that’s enough preachin’. Lets see some link-o’s.

References

Michele Alves  –  Gorgeous latina. She’s another beautiful girl like Amanda Hummer with dazzling eyes, nice eyebrows and full lips. Perfect face…  x_x

Jade Picon  –  Another gorgeous latina, holy fuck I’m done. Same as the previous girl, really pretty face but she has grey eyes! The face refs are real.

Nadine Jansen  –  Beautiful big booby lady who runs a soft core porn site (that focuses on other big booby ladies). If you like da big boobies or need references for huge tits, this would be a good place to check out. The only issue is that it’s a pay wall site, but they do have 2-3 sample pictures for each set so that should be enough (because they have a fuck ton of sets).

Gravure Heaven  –  Tumblr that posts a ton of YUMMY Gravure models from Japan! ^_^

Artists

Matilda Fiship  –  Artist that makes a lot of demon/monster/angel girls. I LOVE the way she does her eyes, her characters have big beautiful eyes! She also makes her girls a little on the thick side so bonus points!

Guweiz  –  I don’t remember if I shared this guy before or not??? Oh well! Amazing fucking artist! I know I say that a lot but this dood is the real deal. He’s been painting for 4 years and already he is fucking phenomenal!!! Out of all the super fine art guys, I think this guy is my favorite.

Holly Bell  –  Really cute Disney-style art! If you’re a crazy Disney whacko (like most girls), you will love this artist!

Bokuman  –  Erotic artist that focuses on the thickness, ayyyy! He also has a lot of great anatomy tutorials, check him out.

Norasuko  –  Artist that focuses on loli hentai. Kinda don’t like his art cuz he draws a lot of lolis, BUUTTTTT he’s got a shit ton of tutorials on his tumblr that teach a lot of valuable lessons in art. This guy knows his stuff, check him out if you want to learn.

The Importance of Marketing

I shouldn’t even have to even write a description here. If you’re on the internet and you want people to look at your stuff (music, writing, art, videos, stream, etc…),

YOU NEED TO KNOW MARKETING.

This is the biggest problem ALL creatives have, they don’t know shit about marketing. I’ve seen tons of incredible artists, writers, musicians, film-makers, etc who don’t have marketing skills and barely have a following on the internet at all. This video alone will teach you so much about marketing in the modern social media era! This video seriously has hundreds of dollars worth of information and Grant is giving it away for free. If you’re a creative, watch this video and take notes!

I will write a book about these things in the future. brb a couple years, gotta get famous first lol.

And if you think marketing and this video is bullshit: god fucking help you, you poor bastard. XD

You’re in for a brutal life as a creative if you don’t know marketing.

Music

Hiro Tadomatsu – 【cmyk!】 ~ 「 Umami 」–  Super funky fresh future funk. This song is disgustingly smooth/sexy/relaxing/etc.

[MV] MOMOLAND (모모랜드) _ BBoom BBoom (뿜뿜) – I actually hate how much I like this song haha. It sounds kinda trashy like some early 2000’s pop song, BUT THAT CHORUS THO! It’s so damn catchy and I can’t help listening to the song over and over just for that addicting chorus. God help me.  x_X

Hans Zimmer & Lisa Gerrard – Now We Are Free (Hoyaa Remix)  –  Trance + Gladiator ending song = Bliss. This song is a trance remix of the credits song from Gladiator. It’s so fucking beautiful… <3

Artificial Intelligence – Hooked On  –  I’ve been trying to get back into Drums and Bass lately and oh man did I hit the jackpot! It’s upbeat with some sweet piano, perfect. This is the kinda song that makes you wanna run straight up a mountain or jump off a cliff onto your dragon and fly away to see the world. ^_^

Black Desert OST – Calpheon South Forest  –  Awesome epic sounding song. This is the song you listen to when you visualize yourself becoming a master or building your kingdom. The rising feeling of those violins, phew! You can go places listening to music like this. (Also if you haven’t heard the Black Desert Online soundtrack, go check it out. It is perfect music to study, draw, or whatever to. It’s really god damn beautiful and chill music!!!)

Tomppabeats – Lonely But Not When You Hold Me  –  Another sweet beats man I found recently! He’s just like all the old school adult swim bump artists. Beautiful hip hop loops for drawing/studying/meditating to.

That’s it. Now I see maybe it is a good thing I only release these articles once a month. I don’t know, we’ll see. I’ll try again in a few weeks and see how many links I have.

Keep your momentum up doods!  🙂

Weekly Links That Started Out On Time, But Took Longer Than Expected #6

April 8, 2018 By JONRS Leave a Comment

***** Weekly Links are the (almost never) bi-weekly article series where I post interesting links I’ve found over the past 2 weeks. Mostly I post art references (thiccccccc), art videos that helped me, philosophy stuff occasionally, and lastly some music that I found and love! I also do a little blog post about myself if you’re a weirdo and wanna read about my struggle to become the anime tiddiez master. *****

So my bro was cleaning out our bookshelf the other day, whilst I was very busy playing Animal Crossing. This dang guy threw some of my old art books at me that he had found buried in the shelf. They were some old figure drawing books I bought, but gave up on because I wanted quick solutions to my art problems. Fuck, here I go quoting The Alchemist again!

Santiago asks the Alchemist why other alchemists in the past tried to make gold but couldn’t do it. The Alchemist replies: “They were looking only for gold. They were seeking the treasure of their Personal Legend, without wanting actually to live out the Personal Legend.”

Like most people these days I wanted to become the anime titty master without putting in the years of work drawing anime tiddiez. Seeing these “hard” art books again, with the desire to learn art, I realized just how much golden information the authors were trying to teach me. I now realize these books are fucking amazing and am going to spend time referencing the books when doing my studies.

So what’s the point of all this rambling? The point is, if you’re not ready for a book (or lesson in life), you just straight up won’t see what it’s trying to teach you. It will look invisible to you, or the path will look too difficult, even though that’s the right path you need to go down to learn what you need to learn. What did Lao Tzu say: “The smooth way looks rugged.”

If you’re someone with great focusing abilities, hey, by all means get any art book you can and learn from them.

If you’re someone who’s really fucking unfocused like meself, you need to develop a hunger to learn about art before you try and tackle difficult art books. There are no short cuts in art, it’s a hell of a lot of grinding.

also, PERONA SKETCH!!!

References

Jenna Lynn Meowri – Really pretty white cosplayer! She has a fit build with a nice booty. OMG though, forget about her ass, I love her cheek bones! She has a very pretty facial structure, best part about her, hands down. All the smart girls work out and get dat booty these days, but to find a girl with a pretty skull? Can’t improve that, not naturally anyways. :X (Instagram)

Amanda Hummer – God damn it, it happened again. I every time I convince myself I only love Asian girls, I find some gorgeous Latina…  x_x  If Jenna Lynn has the pretty cheek bones, this girl has the pretty eyes + perfect eye brows combo. Deadly! Haha like I say every time, why do I even look at non-Latina girls?

Eri Kitami – Annnnnd then this lady makes me forget everything I just said (maybe I’m just too easily captivated by beautiful women?)… She’s a Japanese latex model, I love her bangs and the way she does her eye-liner. *gasp* (her Instagram)

Amanda Elise Lee – Big booty blondie! She has an incredible body, pretty sure she has fake boobs though FUCK. She’s pretty in the average white girl way. She doesn’t seem to wear much makeup, so on second thought that makes her very beautiful hah!

Modern Qipao – Site that sells cheongsams and other very beautiful Chinese dresses. If you need references for cheongsams, look no further!

Artists

Ross Tran – I probably don’t even need to write anything here, because you prolly already know about him. He’s a famous artist on youtube. Oh man this guy’s colors are fucking amazing! (Deviant Art, Twitter, Instagram)

Juniu21 – Hoooo man, this guy is good. Not too well known, concept artist/freelancer. Check this guy out, he paints in a dark style, pretty fuckin bad ass. Lots of sexy demon ladies and dragons and monsters.

Ranou75 – FUCK, this guy right here is on fire! This dood is definitely art goals for me. He’s an anime style artist who paints in a very unique style. He has a certain way of painting his eyes and hair that just makes them sparkly and beautiful as fuck! One of the most unique anime style artists I’ve ever seen. x_x    (his Pixiv)

Seed1yet – Amazing hentai artist. He’s pretty good at rendering skin and making hot compositions. (°_°;) Jesus, just see for your self…  (Pixiv)

Bobby Chiu – A creature designer who teaches at schoolism. I’m not too interested in his work, buuuuuuuutttttt he does tons of interviews of other top artists on his youtube. Worth checking him out to learn some wisdom from some top tier artists. (Twitter, Instagram)

Art Stuff

Pencil Kings – Art tutorial website. Lots of good tutorials for mostly $15, taught by experienced professional artists. I told ya before that I’m taking a course from these folks, and it’s been pretty enlightening for me to know just how much I fucked around my first year of learning art. XD

DesignDoll – A free program that lets you pose a doll (with fully adjustable body parts, yes even titties and thickness). It’s pretty simple to use, although I could see it taking some time to really get good at posing the dolls quickly. If you pay $80 for the premium version you can download poses from a online pose library, which would be pretty fucking valuable! The free version doesn’t really have any restrictions on it, so definitely worth checking out if you need help with a pose or just wanna get that pose perfectly.

Music

Hugo LX – Breakfast At Roney’s  –  Ooooooo man, this past month I’ve been getting back to my house roots. This one is pretty minimal and pretty damn chill. ^_^

LUZ1E – In Your Arms  –  Oh that Luzieeeeee. She’s a house producer that makes some pretty sweet lo-fi house with amazing vocal samples. This one is more upbeat that her usual stuff, but still incredible. Check out her other songs, she’s pretty damn good.

Herb LF – Von Zeit zu Zeit seh’ ich den Alten gern  –  I don’t even know where to begin with this song… It’s house I guess? But that piano sample and that other sample from Jazzanova, fuck man, just… fuck. I didn’t know I lived in a world where something this beautiful existed! Shoot me now plz, I’m done.

Sweely – Around  –  Another song with some beautiful background sample work (piano or guitar or something?). It starts out kinda down tempo and beautiful, but then that beat starts at 2:41, I was like: SHITTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT more gold! And then that black lady at 5:15, EEEEEEEEEEE this song is groove overload! It’s songs like this and the previous Herb LF song that make me regret not listening to House 24/7… How many other fucking brilliant shining gems are out there that I haven’t found yet? Gives me shivers just thinking about it, phew! ^_^

Jazzanova – Hanazono  – Jazzanova, uh, hmm, hard to define… Jazzy, lounge music occasionally with vocals? I used to listen to them years and years ago but totally forgot about em. Thanks to Herb LF, I found them again. Check them out, really beautiful jazzy stuff. <3

Virtual Self – Ghost Voices  –  Fucking beautiful song (those vocals make me cry, fuck) by Porter Robinson. This dang guy is only a month older than me and he is fucking killing it! I’m so glad he’s really trying out different styles with his music and not just getting tied down to one style. This guy is going places, can’t wait to see the genres he explores throughout his life. Also, check out this fucking badass trance version, omg. ^_^

Slowly, my dream is coming true. I’m weaving a massive spell. Every day it manifests itself a little more.

I’ll still call them Weekly Links, even though they’re monthly #5

March 3, 2018 By JONRS Leave a Comment

***** Weekly Links are the (rarely) bi-weekly article series where I post interesting links I’ve found over the past 2 weeks. Mostly I post art references (read: hot bitchez), art videos that helped me, philosophy stuff occasionally, and lastly some music that I found and love! I also do a little blog post about myself if you’re a fuckin weirdo and wanna read about my struggle to become the anime tiddiez master. *****

I always start these things and first thing I think is: how the hell do I usually format these things? Then I gotta go look up my old link articles and see how the hell this thing is done…

February was a fun month for me! I was finally consumed by the art demons. My desire to play video games is dead and gone (except for Escape from Tarkov x_x). I used to play video games while listening to talks like Joe Rogan or Jordan Peterson. Now, I can’t even do that! Anytime I attempt to play video games, my subconscious starts to bug me that I’m wasting time and that I should be drawing instead.

There’s a quote in The Alchemist that says: the more someone pursues their personal legend (purpose in life) the more and more it becomes their sole reason for living. I now know this is true.

Or as Jordan Peterson put it: in order to get rid of addictions, you have to find something that replaces the addiction. Something you find even more meaningful than the addiction.

So if you want to stop some addiction or bad habit of yours, just find your purpose in life. Haha! It took me about 1 year and 5 months to be fully consumed by my drive for art. So who knows, maybe if you’re more disciplined than me, you’ll be consumed by your purpose in 6 months or less?

A warning though, you will become a different person. The old you will die. So if you’re afraid of change and prefer life nice and simple, don’t pursue your purpose in life. Your old way of living will be annihilated. Your new god will destroy it.

The plus side: you will have beautiful and infinite meaning in your life while you pursue your dream.

OH-KAY, that’s enough philosophy! Let’s talk about thick thighs! 😀

Also, featured image is a quick pic I did recently.

References

Camila Bernal  –  Thick Colombian model x_x. Jesus, why even date women that aren’t Latina? Most women could never be thick like this… I gotta find an Asian girl and do massive experiments to get her to be as thick as this lady.

Jang eun young (waveya Ari)  –  Gorgeous Korean lady from a dance duo. Her and her partner have a youtube where they do sexy dance covers. In reality these girls are hustling their lingerie brand. God fucking bless beautiful entrepreneurial women. (Her dance partner’s instagram here)

Juliette Michele  –  Another thick cosplayer lady, zomg. Is she Latina? I think so…

Miko Mihokina  –  Belgian cosplayer, oo la la. She’s got kinda a big nose but a cute face so she gets away with it. Great body and delicious white skin! <3

Miss Warm J  –  Pretty Asian cosplayer. I was gonna post her instagram but I guess it got deleted? Here’s a backup instead.

XXX-cosplay  –  Tumblr that posts lots of NSFW cosplay pics. Prolly a good way to find more cosplayers eh?

Artists

Chris’s Art Cave  –  Hentai artist/animator that focuses mostly on tentacle/futanari porn. He’s really good and his stuff is super hot! Watching this guy’s animations makes me wanna learn animation! Fuck man, some day I will, it looks incredible, so mesmerizing…

Sefuart  –  Great hentai artist. His style is a kinda cartoony. Check him out on: Deviant Art and Tumblr

Calm  –  Incredible American style hentai artist. He’s like 1/2 cartoony yet 1/2 realistic at the same time. He’s really something, check him out!

Ellowas  –  Really damn good SFM animator. This guy has made a lot of hot Overwatch stuff, check it yo.

Espen Olsen Saetervik  –  In-fucking-credible Dark Souls-esque traditional paintings. You have to see his stuff.

Aurahack  –  Amazing colorful art. Ughhh, this girl is art goals for me!

Doxy  –  Another really good hentai artist. Check out her site for a lot of great tutorials.

Art Videos

The Emergence of Talent by Sycra  –  This guy has been around on youtube making art tutorials foreverrrrrrr. I’ve seen him recommended time and time again by many people and now I see why. He’s very insightful and has a lot of wisdom in art. This video in particular is about how becoming a great artist takes many years of study and work. The most interesting topic he talked about was how all “gifted” artists he has met, all copied the artists they loved as kids. This massive amount of copying as children set up their brain to crush at art when they got older and studied art seriously.

TLDR: go do tons of copies of the artists you love. This will help your brain develop art skill faster. Yes, even if you’re old. (Sycra takes a long time to articulate his thoughts so if you hate long rambling videos, don’t watch this guy lol)

Also, Sycra has tons of incredible art tutorial videos on his youtube and website. go pls

Mikey Mega Mega  –  This guy is a another great artist making tutorials on Youtube. He does a cute anime/cartoony style. Very helpful videos, usually going step by step in real time! A very nice man and occasionally funny.

Music

Final Fantasy 13 OST – Lake Bresha  – Another amazing Final Fantasy soundtrack. Excellent music to draw to, have a listen to the whole album, it’s great.

Red Velvet – Bad Boy  – One of Red Velvet’s new singles that came out at the beginning of February. Amazing K-Pop. Such a chill fucking song.

Jazz Jackrabbit OST – Deserto  –  Soundtrack from an ancient DOS game I used to play as a kid. The music is really fucking good.

Seth Nova – BABY  – A new future funk artist I found recently. I guess this guy hasn’t been around too long but holy shit, he is fucking good!!! He also sings on one of his new songs. Can’t wait until this guy releases an album. <3 <3 <3

DéspairsRay – Abel to Cain  –  Some BADASS Japanese metal. I swear this song sounds straight out of Devil May Cry 1. I haven’t listened to metal in a long time, I gotta go back. x_x

One Piece OST – Chika No Sakaba Dai-Hole  –  This is the song that plays during the Davy Back fight in One Piece. OMG, I was entranced by this song the first time I heard it and I had to find it. Beautiful middle-eastern sounding song, so energetic and uplifting! 😀

KK, that’s it. Thanks for reading! Hopefully some of these links help you on your journey. And if not, at least you got some eye candy out of it!
